CENTER FOR
THE STUDY OF INSTITUTIONAL DIVERSITY

Visiting Scholar Application Information

The Center offers a limited number of Visiting Scholar positions. We recommend that you review our website in order to get a better sense of the material covered in our Lecture Series on our events page. http://csid.asu.edu/events.

Because visitors are expected to deliver a colloquium and to attend and participate in these weekly seminars, at a minimum, a moderate amount of proficiency in speaking and understanding English is required. All seminar and colloquium sessions are in English, and attendance and participation in these sessions is expected of all visitors. Inability to meet this requirement reduces the learning experience for visitors and limits contributions from our visitors toward the learning experience for all Center colleagues.

Application materials for the 2009-10 academic year are due by April 1, 2009.  Qualified candidates will be notifies of their acceptance by May 15th.

To apply, please send the following materials under one cover to Ann Evans, center coordinator, either by mail service or email:
  • letter outlining how you plan your time spent at the Center and what you want to accomplish (limit of two pages);
  • curriculum vitae;
  • 2–3 writing samples; and
  • three letters of reference.

If accepted to our program:
  • The Center will provide each Visiting Scholar with office space, computer, and access to Arizona State University resources.
  • We ask that each Visiting Scholar search for funding, as the Center has limited funds available for direct support of this program.
Thank you for your interest in our program.
